Quoting .Kingston's.Mommie.:“ we had a customer come into the dealership and she was overweight and she had a child about 4 who wasnt ... [snip!] ... who was about 9 who was overweight, morbidly overweight, and one of the sales guys said the same thing, that its child abuse.”
In that case do you think that it just might be genetics? Like either the younger one had a different dad (who was really skinny) or she just hasnt gained as much weight as the older one yet? Or maybe the older one just steals the little one's food at dinner.   im playing!

I dont think parents realize how that will affect the child for the rest of their lives. I was allowed to eat whatever and sit on my butt all day, and I have never developed healthy eating habits and I have struggled with my weight my whole life. Granted, I'm not obese, but I could be very easily because I freaking love unhealthy food.

I've been overweight my whole life - no matter what I tried to do to loose it. I hated it as a kid, being picked on all the time, so I am sensitive to my sons weight because I don't want him to go through that.

At his 6 month about he was 27inchs and 21 lbs 3 oz - he had gained just less then 2lbs since his 4 month appt. The nurse told me my son was obese and if his "drastic weight issues" continued at his one year appt. he would have to go on a diet! It took a lot for me to not punch her - when his belly isn't full it's concave, he has no rolls on his legs or arms, he's wide across the shoulders and his a sturdy kid!

Sometimes I think the health officials are so afraid of being going drastically off the deep end and letting there childern get huge like the kid in the video, so they encourage you to go to the other way - which can lead to eating disorders too. At his 9 month appt my son was 23lbs and 30 inches. The doctor said he was prefectly healthy.

I think that's really sad. My 5 year old doesn't even weigh 40 lbs yet, and she's not thin...she's got some meat on her bones. I can't imagine a 3 yr old weighing more than twice my daughter. Poor thing. She's being taught to be addicted to food, IMO.
