So tomorrow im getting the paragard birth control and i was wondering from the ones who have this if you like it, how the periods are, and if any of you have gotten pregnant with it..

yeah.. the doctor called it an IUC.. but the same concept..

I react really badly to ANY hormones, so I loved this! It made my periods a little rougher. I never really had cramps or anything before this IUD and with it I needed motrin and a heating pad once in a while.
I'm due October 25th (a boy) & live in Eagle River, Alaska

oh thats not good.. i dont want to be pregnant again for about 5 years.. lol

It's an ancient form of birth control (used by ancient Egyptians) and I have heard of women having ectopic pregnancies because of it. A friend of mine recently had surgery to remove it because her body had grown over it and caused bleeding,and my mother almost bled to death after having one. I would never even consider such a neanderthal form of birth control. I suggest the pill or if you have a hard time remembering to take it, get the Nuva ring.

oh okay.. i got pregnant on the pill and i was taking it correctly.. i have heard of one person to get pregnant on the nuva ring and i was considering the depo but i knew 3 people who got pregnant on that so thats why i was going to get this.. but i dont like the sound of that..

I think it really depends on the person, I know plenty of people (here on BG even) who have gotten pregnant on Nuva ring, and I personally can not tolerate the way hormones effect me so a BC method without hormones is best for me. Also, unless you mom had the copper IUD within the past few years, they are nothing like what they used to be when they originally came out.
