faint positive test

Im 2 weeks late as of now. And so far ive had all neg. tests. Well yesterday for the first time i started getting sick. So last night i decided to take a test. SO i went to dollar general and bought a test. When i first took it it said negative so i sat it down for about 30 min. When i came back there was a faint line undeer the positive side. it looked like a shadow but it was def. there.

sorry i never finished my post lol what i was asking was that if anyone has any advice it is really needed. I am going to the doc Thurs. Im just anxious.

Tests are generally not valid after ten minutes because the positive line that shows up later can be an evaporation line. Sounds like you need a blood test.

Careful reading tests after that long. You can get evaporation lines. I think the limit is 10 minutes. I would purchase another test and try again. Good luck!

Most pregnancy tests say after 10 minutes to dispose. So if you didn't get a positive within 10 minutes, it probably is negative. I'd go to the doc, definitely.

Tests aren't reliable after that long.

If you're two weeks late, you'd get a definite BFP if you were preggo by now.

i sort of want it but sort of dont. Im not sure if im ready for another baby. But i cant help but have ,my hopes high. Ill keep ya'll posted thank you

I agree. Unless you buy another test, there's probably no way to tell. Before you go to the doctor, try one more test. Do the test first thing in the morning because your hormone levels are the highest then. [I mean, take the test the first time you pee when you wake up to go to work or whatever.] If it's a positive, it should turn almost immediately. :]

no good after 7-10 min but it you are 2 weeks late i would either buy another test after a couple days or get a blood test  

Hi! I too purchased a test from Dollar General. We actually had been trying that month so I figured I had to be pregnant. I took a test every morning for a week, no joke. Finally, on Friday morning, after waiting to view my test for about 10 minutes, I saw a faint little line. I immediately thought it was just an evaporation line. The suspense and excitment got the best of me and I drove into town for a Clearblue Digital. It was positive. I recommend waiting a couple more days, then take another test in the morning. (The firsturine of the day contains the highest levels of hcg).If you still have no result, but have a late cycle, go to a health professional. You'll be in my thoughts. Good luck!

I always buy the digital ones with the words b/c every time i use one with lines I'm always like "i think i see one...or maybe not" lol, I always think i'm imagining the line out of hopefulness. Try a digital if you can't wait for your doc. appointment. They are very clear!

Same thing happened to me so I went out and bought one of the clear blue easy test that say pregnant or not pregnant. They are more expensive but you do get your answer clearly.
