rash

posted 28th Jul
Tonight, when I got out of the shower, I noticed that under my left boob I've got a really red and angry looking rash. Normally I get it under both but at the moment it just under one... I live in Australia, its winter here at the moment and quite cold, otherwise i'd believe it to be heat rash or something... Anyone else have this?

sweat rash? You sweat whether its cold or hot esp. in that area. Probably no big deal. don't wear a bra for a while and put some cream on it.

yeh probably.. i'm putting bepantan on it, that seems to help. I don't wear a bra at night, unless i'm out and I hate not wearing a bra during the day incase someone comes over or i have to go out somewhere

And thanks for the advice : )

Hopefully its not that one of ur milk ducts are clogged. Do you have the yellowish milk coming in yet? I dont think you can have this yet bc u arent breast feeding yet, but i would ask ur doctor just in case because it can become very painful and give you a fever and rashif it is what i am thinking of...i cant remember the name of it tho.

But it just looks like heat rach underneath the actual boob itself.... it probably is just heat rash.... I get a clear or sometimes whitish milk that comes out of the nipples though, but only little dribbles, and sometimes more than others.

But thanks for your help : )

Ya i did too! But i only was able to do it for 5 months bc i went back to school 2 weeks after giving birth and ihad to pump when i had a chance which led to me producing less and less milk.

Good thats the best thing you could do for your baby! I wish i could had done it longer, but it wasnt enough to keep my son full and classes got crazy so i didn't have time to pump anymore and once he tried the bottle he liked it more so i couldnt go back to breast feeding.

I get a rash under my boobs occasionally. Sometimes under both, sometimes under one or the other. It is red and bumpy and usually burns pretty bad... sometimes itchy. I had always put Gold Bond Medicated Powder on it and that would sooth the burning until it went away. It usually only lasted a couple of days.
When I found out that I was pregnant, I found an OB that I really liked and started seeing her. The first time that I had an appointment with her, she did a breast exam. I happened to have the rash under one of my boobs that day. She told me that it was a yeast infection. I was like, "What??? A yeast infection under my boob?" Yup. Turns out that they are a pretty common thing. I told her that I had been putting powder under my boobs when I noticed the rash. She told me to just buy some anti-fungal cream from the drugstore (over-the-counter) and apply it to the rash until it went away. I had some anti-fungal cream at home. I only had to apply it once and the next day it was gone. I actually haven't gotten it again since I've been pregnant.
