Suggestions for video hosting besides Youtube??

Hey there,
I have several online friends who would like to watch the video of my daughter's waterbirth. I was going to upload it to Youtube, but I dont really like the idea of everyone on the earth being able to find it and watch it! It is a very private and intimate video for me, and although I will let most anyone watch it who asks, I dont really want it to be floating around in greater cyberspace for strangers to gawk at. It's very graphic and personal!!  
So my question is, does anyone know of a video hosting site where you can load videos and then protect them with say a password or something so that people can only watch it if they have the password first??
That way I could load it and provide the link and send the password to those who I choose... but the rest of the population of the earth cant watch it randomly. I dont want to make it a private video on YouTube cause then nobody can see it but me... am I right? OR maybe I'm wrong... IDK! any suggestions?

The only suggestion I would have would be photobucket but idk if they do what you're wanting either.

I think Photobucket lets you upload video!

You can just send the videos through your email...

you can use tinypic.com and upload it there too.

Also, there is a setting on youtube that allows you to choose if you want your video private or public. You could upload it there and only let certain people see it f you want...

Yeah, I've seen "private" videos on there before, but there was never any place to enter a password or anything to see it.... or maybe I'm just blind!   I just figured private videos were only available for the owner to view. I'll check into it!   thanks.

Yeah, I don't know that much about it, either. In the past, when I've put up a private video on youtube, I've just given the password to people who I want to see it. So I guess that means people have to log in as "me," which is probably not the most elegant solution, but it works...

Chances are, you'd have to password-protect any private site you wanted to put a video on, so maybe it all works out to be the same in the end.

Good point.. hehe I dont forsee an issue with anybody logging on there as me though, just so long as they dont up and change the password on me! LOL
