lol good point! They are on such small amounts under 3lbs so you will have alot to store.

We had to purchase a freezer specifically for breast milk! our other one broke (over Christmas no less!) and wasted weeks worth of b/milk, i cried so much, i was just devastated.

Noo lol its just a regular freezer, i meant the whole thing was dedicated to breastmilk! (he had nec, infections and surgeries that stopped him eating for a while so it all had to be frozen till he was well & old enough). I was in the hospital for a couple of nights and when i got home the whole freezer had leaked my kitchen out   thats when i learnt how precious b/milk is!

Oh No... That sucks... Did you really need the milk? (Either way it's still sad... I was so sad when I had to throw mine out.. )

The next hosital we moved to had a b/milk bank so we were ok, but it really upset me. It was just all the effort i went through and the problems pumping every 2 hours around the clock ya know. And i think the fact that pumping was the only contribution i could really make to help him get better too, it was horrible losing all of that. We have a good freezer now though lol

I had to pump and bottle-feed my son breastmilk for the first 3 1/2 weeks until he learned to latch on... I pumped like CRAZY and was getting 8oz per boob every 2-3 hours. I filled our entire freezer in the basement.. I had hundreds of 6oz bags from just that first month... luckily he was able to eat it all because I was away from him for a week.

But I would have cried if it spoiled! That stuff is liquid gold!!

Thanks ladies... at first it was getting really annoying cuz it felt like i wasnt getting anything. I seem to get half an oz more on my left boob.... now that i know its normal i wont continue pumping that one until it is exal to the left... lol wow i learn new things everyday... I make sure i pump at least 8 times a day... if i have to wake up in the middle of the night to use the restroom no matter how tierd i am i make sure i pump... when i wake up i pump.... i feel like i am constantly pumping. I am so scared of letting my milk run out... when i get 3ozs i start feeling like my milk is running dry... Now that i know its normal i feel much better.

be greatful! I was pumping about 5 oz every time for the longest time. Then I had to go back to work and I wasn't able to pump several times a day. My breasts now won't even cooperate w/a pump. I get maybe 5 oz out a day! Thankfully, I'm able to nurse enough to keep my milk but, Piper absoultley have to have formula during the week. there is no way I can pump enough to make it worth the trouble.

i have 60 three and four ozs bags and a few 5oz bags at home plus the 40 he has at the hospital. They have enough for him so far so i am just pumping and storing at home.. One of the nurses taught me an awesome trick... let out the air and lay them flat... so they are getting stacked... its not to bad when he comes home he will never go hungry... im glad im getting a good jump start cuz i really dont want to use formula unless i absolutly have to.

I was the same way. I really hate the fact that piper has to have formula. it bothers me and really, I should be trying to get her at least some milk through out the week. my breaks are just very limited and they are strict as to when you get back from them. Maybe I'll wash up my gear and try it again this week.
Thankfully, my 180.00 a week in daycare fees pays for her formula
