Lol it is true. It's just ... different, with some areas. Like urban vs. rural. The kids are raised differently. And that's just how it is!

LMAO @ "our fun was the evening hours before bed when we caught firflies or sneaking the veggies we harvested... "

I remember when I was younger, my whole family sitting around blowing grass! lol. I still have the image of my grandma (R.I.P ) blowing grass, or what her attempts at blowing grass sounded like, anyways!   I definitely want to raise Corbin to have a strong "outdoor-no-technology-can-be-fun" kind of lifestyle, I think it's the best!!

Me too!! LOL I am strict about TV time and such... They need time to MY version of kid stuff. Climb trees, catch bugs, breed frogs (I did that in our bathtub once my mom was PISSED!!!) LOL I want them to learn that the simple things mean a lot and the best things in life are free. Rainbows, a sunset, just being together.

When I was younger (it IS a bit weird, but not that bad... lol) I ran into the house and told my mom that I "really needed a needle and thread! Quick!" She asked why, and I told her that I had found a lepord frog, and his back leg was barely attached and he must of gotten hit with a lawn mower or something.
LMAO!
My mother did NOT give me a needle, and the frog was just fine.

But no city girl would ever do that!   lol.

Yeah, i have a theory tho that animals can sense childrens innocence... Thats all I can figure or I should have died from any of the times I adopted wild animals. I got the baby bear to follow me by feeding it wild strawberries. I went running into the house to tell my mom that I had found an abandonde bear cub (I never saw the mommy) and when she followed me outside the mommy was standing by the outhouse watching the cub play in our wild strawberries LOL My mom FLIPPED LOL I would also regulalrly get lost in the oowds and come out a cpl of miles from home and just nochalantly walk to the first house I found and ask them to get me home or call my mom LOL I was a little infamous.   When they found out I was sneaking the deer scraps to the wolverines they were really mad at me.   Apparently they were trying to round up and shoot them all bc they kept killing livestock. Silly me, I was encouraging them to hang around.

I just have to say, just because it bothers me when people say this
"if they can afford it without government assistance, then they should have as many as they want."
Theresmothers with one kid on welfare, should they not have been allowed to have one because they cant afford it without the governments help? I think that argument is lame........anyways....

okay, just had to get that off of my chest. On to the question at hand, no, I dont think the government should determine how many children that someone can have. I do, however, see the logic on putting a limit, but still on the other hand, I think its our human right to have children. In China with the one child policy, babies and children are stolen all the time, parents without birth permits cant have their "extra" children go to school or do anything unless they pay a fine that is usually outrageous. Unmarried couples, and anyone under a certain age (I believe its 24 for a man and 22 for a woman..but dont quote me on that, I cant remember the exact age) cannot recieve a birth permit. I see the pros and cons to both sides.....

That's interesting, and I do partially agree... No I don't reeeally think that the goverment (or anyone) should be able to say who can and can't have children..
But sometimes I think that the world would really benifit if people had to take an easy and mostly common sense kind of a course, before they had children. But it wouldn't really help people that got pregnant by accident, unless it was a mandatory thing to do while you were pregnant.... I don't know.. There's lots of holes and kinks in the idea, but it's an idea.

I come from a family of seven children and my husband comes from one of eight children. We love our families and wouldn't have it any different, our parents each loved us and cared for us. What is sad is when people are popping out babies that can't or won't take care of them.
