What would you do..
If your oldest daughter killed your younger daughter?
Would you disown them? Continue a relationship with them and even help them adjust back to a some what regular life after thier release from prison?

So what would you do if it was your daughters?

Honestly I don't know what I would do...
They made a movie about this, I rented it like 3 months ago

ya i saw it.. Karla.. funny they made her look like pauls victim then at the end say its not possible she did it solely because of his abuse  

I quickly read it. It made it seem like the older sister helped her fiance drug and rape her younger sister. Is that right?

yeah thats sick, and i would NOT support my daughter if she behaved this way.

Ugh I live in Canada and we had to learn about the Homolkas in Law class in high school. If she was my daughter I would be done with her outright. That's just sick. I'm sorry but I wouldn't support a murderer even if it was my own kid because killing is wrong. Especially your sister. I'd be hurt and upset and yes torn because a mother loves all her children, but that in my mind is unforgivable.

We were on vacation at Rice Lake in Canada during his trial and I remember being appalled at the whole thing. I honestly would not have anything to do with her. She had so many chances to do the right thing. And to me the way she participated in many of the crimes I am shocled she got off with 12 years.

What is the name of the movie??

Ok. That's what I thought.
Then I don't think that I could forgive her. I would be extremely hurt and torn, but if she helped kill her younger sister (my other child), I would not be able to look at her again. It would hurt me everyday though knowing that my child is capable of something so horrible.

I always knew the story because i live in Scarborough *apart of toronto* in Ontario.. where paul was the local rapist and karla went to high school.. *its a 10 min walk from my house  *

So watching the movie kind of pissed me off.. it was pretty much putting it all on him IMO... when infact NIETHER has even APOLOGIZED to the families

Ashamed about the spendage of tax dollars? You and I both... Aslo, the Canadian tax dollars did manage to enable his wife,while incarcerated, to obtain a university degree, to marry, to bear a child, to re-locate, re-invent herself, to move to a tropical island... hmmm.... what's wrong with this picture? I have worked my a*s off to achieve just this and am still no further ahead.
Bitter? you bet I am... I, ashamed to say it.. was a neighbor of the lovely "Bernardo" couple. They haunt me everyday of my life.... When an entire nation was searching for those two lovely, young girls... for a time, they were right under our noses...
I hope Paul gets out of segration and put into the general population of the facility where he is incarcerated. I hope he can have visitors.. I know an entire city that would LOVE to come visit him.
I hope his other "ex-half" gets nibbled on by a shark... and that it's slow and painful, and she bleeds alot....
Bitter? You bet I am... almost ashamed to be Canadian.

I would hope that I would still love my child, no matter what they did.


Forgiveness would be another story, however. I'm not certain that's something one can ever forgive.
