If i did say yes to Charles I would kinda want the middle name to be Ruben after my dad...so i guess three question.... Does Charles Ruben Mernack sound bad??

I like either Charles Ruben or Ruben Charles. Do you know what Charles means? It has a wonderful meaning!

I think it sounds fine together! Charles is not a bad name, granted it's not completely unique, but there's not a lot of charles around these days.. I went to school with some brothers, the dad named themboth Charles with different middle names.. They went by their middle names..

My hubby is named Charles... and lets just say it's a bit too stuffy. It sounds so I don't know royal like Prince Charles the 3rd or something.. and he ended up being Chuck. Which suits him way better than Charles, he's just too much fun to be called Charles.. And yeah Charlie doesn't suit him either, plus it always makes me want to add "and the chocolate factory" everytime I say it.. Anyway at least Charles has lots of nicknames? lol.. Good luck. (and now I want to put good luck chuck.. gahh)

Charles means "strong & manly." I like the meaning very much. If you really don't want it as a first name, try to compromise with the hubby about using it as the middle name. After all, I don't think you should have to live with something you totally dislike. Tell him he insists on naming him that, and the child hates it, you will totally tell him that his dad insisted. My dad insisted on Ashley, mom hated it. I hate it, so mom always told me exactly whose fault it was that I have this name. I am still irked at my father about that. LMAO

Well you guys have a little while to work it out. Don't stress too much. Just explain to him that you really would prefer something else for a first name.

When my hubby suggested our daughter's name when I was pregnant, I was very "meh" about the name, it wasn't something I thought I cared for.. But once she was born, that's what we named her.. It's a complete fit to her and her personality. I can't imagine her with any other name.. So you never know, you might change your mind too lol
