wedding changes

Ryan and I went to get our marriage license today. After calling several judges, none are available to do weddings on August 8th! Apparently because of the date, the secretary said lots of weddings are happening that day. She said it's been booked for months   So our date is pushed back to August 22nd. Damnit, damnit, damnit. I guess that's what I get for not thinking ahead.

Sounds about right.... My mom and aunt are both getting married that day.

We originally wanted our wedding on 6-7-08 but that got booked months ahead of when we decided we were going to get married too! We had to change it to 6-6-08. It sucks, huh?

I know how you feel, our preacher backed out on us at the last minute and then this lady that was going to do it had us meet her at a restaurant to talk about the details and then told us she wasnt going to do it because she didnt approve of it so then we called all around town and found a judge that was friends with my dad that could do it that day at the same time of my wedding. And what sucked was the preacher backed out 6 days before my wedding...And we had asked him 5 months in advance.

That stinks. I didn't know august was a busy wedding month.

how hard is it to get ordained in your state?

I know in Oregon it's really, really easy.You just read some packets then take a quiz and get your little form.

Do you have a cousin who's a good public speaker, and uncle or best friend maybe? I'd look into it.

Hmmm, very interesting. I don't know how hard it is to get ordained here. I was thinking about seeing if one of the preachers at our church happens to be free that day and be willing to do it. Doubtful, though

I think its booked because of the date 888 (08/08/0  my cousin got married in Vegas on 07/07/07. EVERYONE was in vegas getting married that day...lol

It's not usually but since it's 08-08-08, people want that day.

I still wanted to wait a while formarriage soI was aiming for 10/10/10

Sean & I went to the courthouse and just got our license on Oct 13th 2006, and waited to have our Ceremony n things April 28th 2007......... the guy that was supposed to marry us, yea he told us HOURS before the ceremony that he couldnt make it.... thank god we were already legally married and we had one of our friends marry us!   lol it was funny, but everything turned out great.. no one even noticed that he was our friend! we printed something out on the internet for him to read

Seriously, I know sometimes things just happen...but what is WRONG with people?! Hours before and they flaked? eerrrrr that makes me mad for you!
