We later found out that he wanted more money than we had already agreed on so he backed out, he agreed that he would marry us and let us use his church for $400. But his wife was being greedy and wanted $1000 so instead of asking us for that he just backed out.

ya know... if you have a license, you can have a NOTARY marry you! There are notaries floating around all over the place and you may even know one and just dont know it. You dont need a judge to do it

lol i guess it wasn't even hours..... our wedding was set for 4pm.... it was 330 and he still wasnt there, and didn't answer when we called, lol. good thing we didnt pay him yet, haaaaha. that wouldve been bad. AND on top of it, our DJ almost backed out, he had to get emergency eye surgery the week beforebut he came and brough his fiance to help him since he was pretty much completely blind... LMAO. the wedding day was interesting. it was the day from hell. my hair was horrible no thanks to the shitty stylist. we got into a car accident, oh it was hilarious. a day i certainly will never forget

In Missouri your license is only good for 30 days. So basically, if I didn't get a judge to do it before 30 days as of today, I was going to start asking people if they'd get ordained for us!

Dang, dang, dang! After we get legally married on the 22nd, we are having a bigger ceremony and reception next year in October. For all the services to use the church and preform the ceremony it's 550$. If it was higher than that I wouldn't end up having it. Luckily here judges offer their services for free

do they offer to do the "wedding" there? thats what we ended up doing. some lady took us into a room, she read her stuff, we said i do and put on rings. signed papers, and she made copies and we were on our way. i think you have to get floridas license done within 30 days too. but we got married right then and tehre at the courthouse forlike 50bucks i think it was

That's a very good idea. I actually think my fiance's mom is a notary! Ha!

Nope, sadly not. If your license is from MO, you have to get married in MO.

Really i thought they were good for longer than that. Or maybe it was only 30 days from when you pick it up? I don't remember.. lol. We were able to find someone on short notice. His office is in Liberty. I don't remember his name though.

On the fifty jillion papers they gave us all over it says that it's only good for 30 days once you receive it. And they don't have the 3 day waiting period, so we got it right then.

I'm sure normally it wouldn't be a problem but since it is 8/8/08, it's a popular day.

Our judges only charge like 40-60 and then i gave her a $100 tip. I was going nuts, first i forgot my stupid key to the church and was driving back and forth from the church to my house which was 15 minutes away and then my brother just had to pick the locks lol and later that night i found the key in my freaking PANTS!!! Ugh i was pissed, then my mom forgot my shoes so i had to walk around the grass ( it had thorns in it mind you) with purple socks on and they got a picture of it... 

And then at the reception cake went down my dress, it's a day i'll never forget.

Ya i remembered i think it is good for 6months after you apply for it. 30 days after you pick it up.
