to all you home-birthing mamas....

just wanted to let you know that Cafemom.com has discussion forums available specific to home births, water births, unassisted births, Hypnobirthing, you name it. lots of supportive advice and info minus the negativity.

as much as i love the layout of BG, i don't appreciate the general negative (and sometimes downright BITTER) attitude that a lot of the women on here have toward drug-free births. that being said, i have also met a few AWESOME and supportive women here who have helped me, and i hope to see you on cafemom as well!!

i know what you mean... i think people are a bit scared of the idea-- especially the teens who didn't plan to get pregnant in the first place-- many of them are going to assume that a doctor is the best person to tell them what to do, when in reality a doctor frequently is not the best person to have deal w/ a healthy pregnant woman.

you just have to introduce the idea of home/natural birth it in a thoughtful manner, since it's such a "radical" idea...

i'm a huge proponent of natural birthing-- taking control of your labor etc. and haven't had any problem talking to women on here about it.

so, yeah...

I had an all natural birth in a hospital.... no meds nothing but a bit of oxygen when i needed it! i have found the women on here to be supportive in that area.

if in a hospital, yes... but home birthing is not the norm to a lot of women on  here and some do become very harsh on the subject.

i had a drug free labor/birth as well it was in a hospital, b/c here where i live we don't have such thing as water births, home births and stuff, but i would have loved to have a water birth, i don't have any problem talking about it in here,

i have visited cafemom too but i don't like it.... i love BG and i'll stay here!

I don't really understand what the kitty farting thing is all about, but i just wanted to let other moms know of the other specific forums out there that are available.
honestly, i like the way that BG is set up a LOT better than cafemom, but the forums that are aimed to support natural birth ideas rather than debate them is quite refreshing.
