I want to try to break him of this habit sooner or later..I've noticed that if baby's are used to being rocked, either in a swing or their parent's arms, it's hard for them to sleep on their own w/out any motion. At least that's how my son was when he was a baby. He loved being rocked or tapped on the thigh until he fell asleep.
Quoting Tari Mithrandir: I would just make the switch, even if he doesn't like it. Try it for a few days and see if he adjusts. ... [snip!] ... falling asleep holding her) By 6 weeks old she was pretty well adjusted and knew even if she was down, I was right next to her.
