re: wedding band or engagement ring

see now no one told me about the no engagement ring on your wedding day thing... i just wore it lol

i had a HUGE fiasco with mine and hubbys wedding bands.. we paid some guy to make them, he took 6 months to get the job done, sent them about 2 months ago and they got stolen, and now were screwed out of all that money because hes a dumbshit and didnt send it insured because "well you's didnt say send it insured"

weve asked for a reciept, he said he'd drop one in the mail for us.. never did, my hubbys dad paid the guy in cash and we just put the money back in his dads bank account, so we have no proof of purchase except the photo of the rings that the guy sent us and an email saying he would send the invoice... he wont return phone calls or emails now. i think he knows what we're wanting to do with said reciept..

anyways long story short, we're getting someone else in town to make my hubbys band and we went and bought me one tonight at the jewelry store... he says engagement first then wedding band... i hadnt taken my engagement ring off since i got it.. least not till tonight... anyways ya'll know the rest of the story lol

ill see what some aussie wifes have to say about it if any of them look this direction, thanks for all the replies

Yes I sure am! How did you like it in Edinburgh? Pretty isnt it? I'm from Greenock which is just outside Glasgow. I have a couple of pictures in my MISC picture album of my hometown. its goregous.

When we got married the registrar actually told me to remove my engagement ring so that The hubby could put on the wedding band so i always assumed the band goes first. Mind you i know a lot of people that done even care what hand it goes on anymore so i guess its personal choice

My wedding band wraps around my engagement ring, so I really couldn't say for sure!   I really don't think it makes a difference, but I found this

aaah we would but hes in sydney, were in brissy.... i am soooo seething mad about the whole situation though and my hubby just lets the dude walk all over him, he carries on about "when i call tonight im gonna go off on his ass" then he gets him on the phone and hes like "ooh *chuckles* its ok blah blah blah"

im like wtf is your problem!!! lol yell and scream at him... im half tempted to call him up myself and just go postal on his ass but it wont do a damn bit of good, may make me feel better though...

I always wore my wedding band then engagement ring.

I never new there was a traditional way to wear your rings, interesting...for me its always been engagement ring first, wedding band second.

wedding band then engagement ring is the way I've always seen it.
