Okay this is my first pregnancy and since I wont be able to know the gender for quite some time i was wondering what are some essentials I can begin buying to prepare for my little one that isn't gender related? Thanks for the help everyone!!

Diapers, breast pump, bedroom furniture, soaps and lotions, washcloths, towels, bath tub...that's all I've got for now.

You really could buy almost everything but clothes. I would go ahead and get nursery furniture, high chair, car seat, pack n play, stroller; basically anything that could potentially be used with your next child I would go gender neutral. Some of the smaller things would include diapers, wipes, soap, lotion, bath tub, and bottles.

I would go for diapers, wipes, desitin, baby powders, nail clipper kits, first aid things onesies( just the plain white tee's). If your planning on having a baby shower you should just register for the big items and hope for the best. If you go down the baby isle in like walmart or something you might get some ideas. And hey if you even find something that is really cute that gender related, a lot of times the store has a different policy on returning baby items for those kind of reason.

Id buy the furniture that you need, high chair, car seat etc.
As for nappies...my advice...DONT.
I bough way too many for my little guy and he outgrew them before I used them all, I hadnt kept my receipts and I had a hard time changing them.
Also many babies sensitive skin, I wouldnt buy a whole heap of washes and lotions incase they are allergic to a particular brand and you wont know this until they are here.
Buy towels and blankets, face cloths and matress protectors, a portacot etc.. the things that you will need.. a bath seat, nappy bag, sheets, cotton balls, ear twiddlies, steriliser tablets (depending on how youare gonna do this if you bottle feed) breast pads if you plan to brest feed..
If you do plan to stock up and buy nappies/diapers say a packet a week or something, stickytape the reciept to the packet/box so you can exchange them if you need to.
Another idea is to get vouchers with the money. that way you are saving and the money will be there for when you need the nappies and things..

Even if you do get clothes, there are lots of cute neutral clothes out there. And anything else mentioned above. I would definitely recommend starting to stock up on diapers. I would recommend getting a couple different brands, because believe me, they are not all created equal. You will have you favorites and your not-so favorites, so try them all. Don't go overboard with NB size stuff b/c they grow out of it fast. So with clothes get some NB, and some 0-3m. With diapers I'd get a couple packs of NB, then some size ones. Good Luck, mama!

Are you going to have a babyshower? If you are, I wouldn't buy much yet. I got every big thing on my registry (pack n play, stroller, highchair, bouncy seat, swing, etc.) and I didn't have to pay for any of it!

I'm not sure if I will or not... People around here dont necessarily support the whole getting pregnant before your married deal so we will see. If I do I will most likely put the bigger things on the registry. Thanks

well since i know your situation i would say, unobvious, hidable things such as lotions bath things, onsies, and buy diapers all the time so by the time your having the baby you are fully stocked, and yes YOU ARE HAVING A BABY SHOWER MISSY!!!!! thats the best part and its a celebration of your baby no matter what anyone else thinks! other than that i would def wait, because im gunna have TONZ of stuff for you by that point, and i know youll get most of your big stuff in your baby shower, if not i know youll at least get your necesities and you can save ur money up for the big stuff
