Chicki...you know I loves you...but I think what she was trying to get it is that it isn't what it used to be in the south. It's still there and, yes, in some cases it's still just as bad. But, overall, it's not what it was.

It isn't as bad but it still is bad...Just yesterday after this debate I jumped in the truck and turned on the radio, NPR..There was a discussion about an hispanic boy (17) who was jumped, beaten and killed b/c he was hispanic...cops did nothing....
It may not be on the news but racism is and always will be a problem..
People (maybe not here in the U.S.) are being beaten, burnt, tortured, murdered, raped everyday b/c of their color, their race, their religion, b/c they are a woman, b/c of a political view, b/c of a piercing or tattoo, b/c of their sexual preference...and even b/c of their opinions..

We discriminate on a daily maybe not out loud but in our silent minds...
It is bad and nothing has really changed except for the fact thatafrican americans can now ride in the front of the bus and women can vote...(that was far fetched)..

Do you know I was discriminated the other dayb/c I have a child ...I called about an apartment and no children were allowed...
Racism comes in different forms and shapes and will never be conquered...

I think it all depends on the person, as well.

What's really bad to some, might not be so bad to others.

In a lot of cases, it is all about point of view.

Seriously...You know what was kind of funny? When I was in Venezuela I saw so many license plates that were kinsd of funny there, because they are all a series of numbers with 3 letters together, just three of them had the word combinations of FAG, GAY, and VAG... See it doesn't mean anything there because they are spanish speaking, but here they would at least get a chuckle!
