You asked for it.. the hospital bag

So, I mentioned a book I was given with my labor kit that has a pretty short bag list in it, and several people have pm'd me asking for it. I figured it would be easier if I posted it here and more people could possibly benefit from it. For those of you that are wondering why I have it, I'm suspect for preterm labor and my doctor wants me to be prepared. So here it is.

MOM'S BAG
about 2 well fitting bras/nursing bras w/o underwire
2-3 pairs of cotton undies (prepare for stains)
your own nightgown in case you aren't comfy in hospital gowns
slippers
personal care items(brush, toothbrush, toothpaster, deo etc..)
Loose fitting/maternity clothes for trip home

BABY'S BAG
going home/picture outfit
car seat
diapers,burp cloth, wipes for trip home
blanket, hat, warm outfit for trip home if cold out

LABOR TOOLS
Lotion for massages from coach
Snack bag-lollipops, hard candy for labor, snacks for coach or SO
Focal point item if wanted
lip balm/chap stick
deck of cards/books something to pass the time
your own pillow for comfort
Music- portable cd player or mp3 player with a variety of music
Camera with BATTERIES

So thats what I have. I have no idea how needed most of these items are. I have not given birth, so hopefully I will get some feedback from those who have.

I would also add nail clippers for the baby (my daughter came out with claws), change for the vending machine (for hubby mostly), and I plan on also bringing a couple pairs of dark-colored pj pants to wear after the birth (I hate nightgowns). If you plan on breastfeeding, it's also helpful to have a boppy pillow with you.

everyones told me that hospital pillows suck, so bring one of your own with a colorful case so it doesn't get thrown in with hospital laundry.

AHHH! If you hadn't said that I would have left my boppy! It's already my life saver. I couldn't imagine not taking it!!! I already have two pairs of pajama pants packed up (a black pair and a blue pair-I'm preparing for leaks/stains I think they might be inevitable) So adding boppy for sure.
