inducing?

ok so i really want to have my daughter on her due date or the day after. and i'm thinking about using castor oil to "persuade" labor that morning. the doctor says she is perfectly healthy and should be ready by then. my mom took this with my younger sister and sit worked quickly and shortened her labor by giving her strong contractions but i was wondering if any of you moms out there have any further advise, or horror stories to tell me.

Why? why would you do such a thing? your babie will come when its ready!

Be prepared to shit all day. Let your baby come when it wants to. Stop being selfish!

Mow the lawn then have lots of sex, plus have your doctor strip your membranes the week before you are due....that's what I did 1 was born on her due date and the other was born the day after her due date.

I have never heard anything positive about castor oil. In fact most docs and many midwives now suggest avoiding it.

My midwife told me a story where one of her patinent took castor oil and while she was pushing there was diarreah hitting the wall!! You wanna be THAT lady?

Saying that, Castor oil will give you diarrhea, and may cause your baby to have a BM in utero and get feces in their lungs. It is dangerous and no proof exists that it actually starts labor. Don't do it!!!

but she is big for how far along i am and i'm more worried that if i don't have her near the due date she will be too big and i wil have to have a c-section( i'm tiny i only weighed 110 lbs befor getting pregnant)

how do you know the size your doctor is telling you is accurate? it is just an estimate, your doctor could be very off. and your body is made to deliver.

My midwife straight up told me yesterday that your size has very litle to do with what size baby you can push out, and that she doesn't even like estimating the size of babies, because if the mom is scared that the baby is too big, then her mind and body will work against her. She told me she has seen really tiny women push out 10 lb babies.. Don't worry too much, Try to relax, your body will do what it can.

thanks for the advise  i'll talk to my doctor about that and see what she says
