custody for me....

Im still recovering from the loss of my son in april. I think god really did have other plans for me....Well I got a knock on my door last wednesday .... i was being surved with court papers.... apparently my sister was brought into court and was losing custody of her 3 yearold son. Shes wasnt the best mom to begin with and now she is really messed up with drugs.... well anyway as of yesterday i have full custody of my gorgeous 3 year old nephew.... although the pain of losing my son is still with me every minute of everyday, I feel like maybe this happened because god saw this coming and knew that 2 kids would be alot for me to handle and he wanted to spare me from the struggle.... well i just wanted to let everyone know what going on with me....

OH and by the way....
any hints on gettin a stubborn boy out of diapers and off the bottle?!?? thanksss

hes in and out.... he got called into court too.... my sister had full custody and he only sees his dad once a month when childsupport is dropped off.

congrats to you on gaining custody of your nephew and giving him a chance at life.
i hope your sister somehow changes and does what is right for him..
im sorry about your lost but god works in mysterious ways so he knew what he was doing and your angel will forever watch over you...

o let him run around naked.. lolz and just try a sippy cup or put hot sauce or garlic on the nipple of the bottle

Wow I'm glad you were there to step in and be there for your nephew. What a blessing for you and him.

Get him sippy cups if he doesnt have them already and let him start using those when he wants a bottle.

if he hasn't been well taken care of, it may take longer to transition him from the bottle and diaper, try taking him to the store and letting him pick out his own "big boy sippy cup" make it seem really special, as far as teh diaper thing goes, ugh... good luck

I can only imagine that he's been through a lot with a mother like that! Poor baby.  Just try to be as consistent and loving as possible with tons of support. I wish I had more words of wisdom. It's so awesome of you to step up and give your nephew a loving home! Good luck! 

I don't know about diapers cause I am not to that stage yet but I just stopped giving Braden a bottle. I switched originally to a learner sippy cup and once I realized that he didn't like that I switched to a regular sippy cup. I have had no problems since.

he drinks out of a cup.... he just doesnt eat much and constanly asks for bottles when hes hungry.... she just gave him the bottle to shut him up she never really took the time to find out what foods he likes.... the only thing he seems to wanna eat his doritos.... which he wont be getting .

that sounds like wonderful news. i'm very happy for you! sorry i can't help with the diapers things haven't ever potty trained a boy. as far st the bottle. get a sippy cup and only give him that. he's 3 so he's probably gonna pitch a fit. but he's old enough to talk to him about being a big boy and that bottles are for babies.

thats right mama god saw fit to bless you because you stayed humble to his plan thats great I'm happy for you sweetheart best of luck with your new boy . try pull ups and start working with him slowly it takes time but he'll get it .

how about finger food too.. like chicken nuggets french fries cheese and crackers baby carrots stuff like that and make it like into a game

try things life the chef boyardee foods, the ones that come in the plastic container that you can microwave...also try giving him juicy juice harvest surprise jucie, that way you can sneak in some veggies. i would try little microwavable foods first to get a feel of what he likes..things like easymac,spaghettiO's...

well as long as people wanna answer i got more questions lol....

he is deathly scared of the bath..... what do i do?
and he refuses to get his hair cut.... im not worried about that cuz for all i care he could have hair down to his butt as long as he is happy ....

he really isnt talking all that much either.... like in sentences.... is he supposed to be??
