How early..

Can you go on Maternity Leave? I'll be 29 weeks thursday, i know i sound like a baby but i work in a factory 12 hours 3 days aweek. I am on my feet for the 12 hours i am here and i have to crawl in and out of small areas, squat, and lift a majority of the day. Its killing me and i cant forget its usually near 100 degrees everyday in this god forsaken building...So if you can let me know something so i can speak up about it at my next doctors visit please.

How soon can you afford it?

I still live at home and ill be able to draw short term disability from my job, so i can afford with the help i have, i believe.

Then have at it.... if your job will let you.

Ask your doctor what he thinks.... Usually they don't like you doing alot of that and they will take you off. Do you have short term disability??

yeah, i think im able to draw it or thats what ppl i work with tell me anyways. Is it up to your doctor or your job if you can get put off?

To get the disability you have to have doctor's orders for it, but under those conditions that shouldn't be a problem. I work in a fast food restraunt as store manager and am on my feet 10 hours a day 5 days a week.... the doctor took me off perminately about a month ago because of the conditions.

Its a major bit** working in this heat and standing all day or night and lifting. I have to wear steel toes also, so my feet KILL me, lol. My appt is the 31st ill be sure to mention it.

That's your best bet. Make sure you emphasize how uncomfortable it makes you, and exactly what your job requires you to do. I'm sure your doctor will take care of the rest.

Girl i give you a lot of credit!!! I use to work 10 plus hours a few times a week (plus some other shifts), and i told my boss that i cant work that long standing the whole time, and he changed my hours for me... and he understands i need to sit every now and then.. but your job, it doesnt really sound like your job would be that leanent (sp?)
