Morning sickness hurt the baby?

posted 21st Jul
So I have been trhowing up for about a week now and the last few days the amount of times increases (ie 4 times today)! I am just so scared that all the straining could hurt the baby. I mean my stomach muscles are in pain and I don't know if it is affecting the baby at all. And... I already take my prenatal at night and it seems the one night that I forgot ( thursday) I woke up friday and felt pretty good, but every night that I am taking it the next morning I feel awful and it looks like I may be throwing up some of it because of the color. I feel awful and it is all day please help.

prenatals can make you feel sick. You should eat when you take the prenatal to try to settle your stomach.

Are you eating a meal with the vitamin? Try that.

I had really bad hyperemesis too. The baby will be ok but you should make sure you're getting what you need too. Ask your doctor about Zofran, it helps.

My doctor told me to come in if my stomach muscles hurt from throwing up. Also, if you aren't able to hold down food and water go to the ER and get checked out. You don't want to risk getting dehydrated.

I don't think the morning sickness will hurt your baby, I had it pretty bad, throwing up multiple times a day for quite a while and it didn't do any harm
Have you tried eating a snack before you take it at night? You could also talk to your dr about maybe getting some meds to help.

It doesnt hurt the baby at all, I can tell you that I was suffering from severe gallbladder attacks while I was pregnant and was just throwing up and could barely breathe they had to hook me up to oxygen a few times and through all that pain they said the baby doesnt feel a thing, it's just me who feels it! So I'll tell you right now don't worry! Your baby feels nothing and is just having a good old time in there!

if you can't keep the prenatals down, take flinstones vitamins. they're chewable so a little harder to throw back up... and throwing up can't hurt the baby hun, I've known people that were throwing up so much that they were constantly in the hospital because of it and they had healthy babies! dont worry yourself too much ok?!?

If its the Vitamins, Try Flintstone Vitamins. My doc said it was fine to take if the prenatals where making me sick

I threw up so much in the beginning, I lost 13 pounds. The baby was fine, I just had to make sure I kept water down. I also had strep throat with my morning sickness. Just drinks tons of water. I tried to drink powerade and threw it all up, so stick with water

I'm in my 3rd pregnancy, the first two were easy with morning sickness, I threw up no more than 8 times each pregancny, but this time around its totally different. I've never taken prenatal vitamins (my kids are 100% healthy), I can't swallow vitamins cause I choke on anything larger than a sudafed pill. As far as zofran goes, it works best when given by IV but anything other than that isn't always great. I've been prescribed Phenergan because of the fact that Zofran pills did nothing for me. But vomitting will not hurt your baby. I would suggest eating things that are high in vitamin b6, which is also said to be linked to morning sickness (you need 1.9 mg's a day as a pregnant woman)...

God I am so glad I am over that stage. I know it sucks. I am sorry. I lost 25 pounds and really thought I was going to die. But it went away sorta but I still take Zofran atleast 2 times a week. It is really a life saver. It worked so well and I was also the same way with the vitamins and I take two flinstones a day now. I couldnt handle throwing up prenatals, they make your mouth taste sooo sooo bad coming back up. Gross.
