PP Period?

Okay I am a breastfeeding mama. I gave birth to my son on March 30. I got my first period when I was 5week pp(May6-May14) and it lasted for 9days(before pregnancy it was for 5days only), it was very light. It was coming every week until this month. I have not had my period this month yet. it is almost the end of this month now. My question is: Is this normal? Has this happen to any of you ladies?

It takes awhile to even back out. As long as you are using protection during sex, I wouldn't worry. Are you on the mini pill?

No, been have some issues with my doctor about getting that pill. He told me that he was not going to put me on that pill because the one that he proscribe me was perfect for me. I told him that I am not taking these pills. my LC told the top boss about it and she told him that Bfing mothers get these pills... but I don't have a appt until the 28th. Just waiting and hoping I am not pregnant.

Well then....good luck. I don't really know what to tell you except that it is very common that we have messed up periods for awhile after a baby. Even more so if you are BFing. I used the mini pill while BFing and it was great. No different then any of the other ones I have taken. My dr just told me to call asap when I decieded to stop nursingso that they could pres. me one that was higher in hormones. Use condoms lady!

Oh god, haha. we do use condoms. I told him that we are noting having sex with out them too. Thank you so much for your help, I really appreciate it!

Not a problem hun! I was the same way after Dominik was born...no nookie without a rubber. My hubby was bummed but horny so he gave in! Good luck and btw, what a handsome little man you have!!

It takes a while to get back to normal hun. It happened to me too till I got on BC but BC and BFing don't go well together. Don't sweat it

It may not have been your period at 5 weeks PP. My midwife told me that lochia can go away for a bit and return when you think it is done, any time up to the 6 weeks (for some people a bit longer). Unless your OB/Midwife confirmed it to be your period?
I would say, IMO, it was probably just PP bleeding still, and that you still haven't had your period and may not get it for a while while BF. (My daughter is a week older than your son and I am also BF and haven't had a period yet   )
