i hate the statistic that says...

that girls raised in a fatherless environment are more likely to be promiscuous, drop out of school, and become teen parents. WTF!!!!! they're basically saying that the mothers who are raising these girls are incapable of teaching them morals, values, and the importance of education. i am not with either of my children's parents but i don't think they're at a disadvatange because of it. hell their dads not being around just motivates me more to raise them right so that they can be happy and successful in life. that statistic is really a crock of bullshit!!!!!!!

well, it is unfortunate, but statistics are based on facts. it doesnt mean that ALL of them will.. .and it is similarly said that boys that grow up without a father wind up in a life of crime and what have you.

my dad lived with us BUT i think i was in a "fatherless" environment. my dad didnt spend much time with me or my bro at all. my mom pretty much raised us all on her own while my dad sat on his butt doing nothing. i promised myself i would graduate and i would not be like him and i did... my brother on the other hand dropped out of school.... but hes in job corpse now. i wouldnt trust that statistic tho... it all depends on the parent ya know?

the one "girls without fathers" statistic i like is the one that says we do wrose in math. it gives me an excuse for always sucking in math so i like it lol

but yeah, you're right. it's all about how you raise them. i helped my friend with her research paper on this for psychology and we found it's not a male prescence that matters 100 percent, it's whether or not the mom has a support person, be it a mom or sister or friend.

yeah i know but it's still a shitty thing to advertise publicly. i see this commercial like every other day and it's a put down to single mothers. we didn't make them leave or not do right by their child so why should our children be stereotyped like this?

Yeah thats some shit i would like to know where those stats are. I have serval friends who were raised by single mom and i think they do better cause they can learn from moms mistakes. They all graduated high school and some went off to college. Shit i was raised with 2 parents and i have 3 kiddos my best friend on the other hand was raised by a single mom and she has no kids and has a job and lives on her own.
