I agree with you it is very insulting.
My mom grew up without a dad her whole life and ended up graduating high school and going to college...even my dad was her first and only sexual partner...
I grew up with both parents and I'd say I had a very good childhood but I ended up a pregnant teen, so I think it is BS too. I think that people should keep the statistics to themselves it's like letting everyone know that if your a single mom or know one they're children are going to turn out a certain way. It's making all the single moms out there feel like crap, and that their children are going to be failures, and also have other people judge you for being a single mom even though maybe it wasn't the single moms choice for the dad not to be in the picture in the first place.

A statistic is not saying "THIS WILL HAPPEN" it's stating the likelihood of something. 1 out of every 10 blah blah blah.... so you're not the 1 out of the ten... lucky you....
