Quoting Farah Is Here!:“ I decided to breastfeed and I think its EASIER than bottle feeding...no having to wash bottles, measure ... [snip!] ... formula, and etc. I would say give it a try you may end up really liking it...and if not you can always go to formula feeding”

agreed!!

not to metnion you don't have to hold a bottle, you just put 'em on the boppy and hold them with your arm lol

I chose breastfeeding. After about 3 weeks of it just not giong so well for us with frusterating feeding times because my breasts were too engorged and he couldn't latch on i started pumping and bottle feeding. Its a lot of work to only pump. You have to pump everytime your baby eats so that your milk supply doesn't go away. I've been doing that for two months now. Breastfeeding just wasn't for me. I wasn't comfortable with it, but i wanted him to get the breastmilk. We still have a great connection with the bottle.
the breast doesn't make your baby upset around other people and they wont be too attached to you because of it.

Hmmm well during my pregnancy I planned on breastfeeding. But it didn't work out. I did it exclusively for five weeks. I mixed fed for two weeks and have been exclusively bottle feeding for one week. Having done both (unlike some people on here) I can tell you which, IMO, is easier. BOTTLE FEEDING!! It was great breastfeeding, I liked the cuddling and bonding. However....it burnt me out soooo bad! It exhausted me! I couldn't get a break! I was sooo depressed doing it! It was a HUGE hassle. When you're out and about, you have to find somewhere somewhat private and feed for 25-45 minutes (initially it was taking that long!!!) You have to drag around a huge blanket which never covers you correctly, always falls off, and makes you and the baby hotter than crap. I could NEVER get my baby latched on correctly in public no matter how hard I tried. I would have to have my husband or someone hold up a blanket to help cover me until he got on. And unless you have a boppy, you don't have a free hand, like some said, especially when they're soo little. Your boobs hurts, they leak like crazy, my nipples were so raw and sore (and YES I saw a LC and everything was perfect, just had weird nipples I guess!). I was embarrased to do it in public, which I understand is just because of my personality.
With bottles, I carry around one bottle with a thing of liners (I use playtex drop ins), a small container of formula. Fill up a bottle with warm tap water and mix in formula...I'm good to go! Quick clean up, no bottles to wash, very easy! My husband can give me a much needed break, I know how much he is getting, and I feel happier.
So....FOR ME, bottles are easier!! WAY easier! I love it! HOWEVER....that being said....I didn't really want to quit BFing, and do miss it to this day. If it wasn't for me being soooo darn sore that I was emotionally getting upset, I would still be doing it to this day....even though I believe bottles are easier. I think it's worth a shot, but I don't think anything is wrong with having to use bottles if need be.
I hope that all makes sense

I have both breastfed and bottle fed.. I also had to pump exclusively since my baby was in the NICU.. Breastfeeding is still easier imo..

Yeah well its different for everyone. And maybe if I hadn't had the issues and problems I was having, it may have been easier for me too. It just happened to not be easy because of my situation   ButI will still try again with my second one!!

Oh it wasn't easy for me either mama! Everytime I pumped I wanted to cry because I only got like 5 cc's lol.. but once she got home everything went much smoother, I did almost give up.. I am glad I did not.. Good luck with your next one!

Yeah, I have felt guilty for "quitting" but since I feel happier, I feel I am a better mom. I wish it would have worked out. I wanted SOOOO badly to love breastfeeding...but I didn't. Oh well. Such is life I suppose

i think the only that is harder one way or the other is that if you are breastfeeding your baby will be eating more often, like every hr or two, even at night. and that can be exhausting.

I understand.. You really shouldn't feel guilty for doing what you feel is best. I do think everyone should at least give it a shot, and see what works for them!

Yea, I agree.. when they are little they will cluster feed and be up every 2 hours like clockwork.. But I decided to co-sleep after a few weeks, and I found that much easier!

That's what I did. It was way easier to co-sleep and BF. I could just put it in her mouth and fall asleep.

Yup! I suggest that to all BFing mamas that ask how they can get more sleep.. And a sling for during the day to get stuff done around the house!

Definitely helps!!! My son just started (10 wks) letting me nurse laying down at night because his latch is better & it makes a world of a difference!!! I love BFing. I get sad when I think about having to wean him.

A sling also helps for Bfing in public. You could just pull the top part up a bit to cover yourself. I've seen many women at WIC doing it. THat's where I got the idea, if it weren't for the BFing class and them telling us that's what they were doing I never would've known they were doing that.
