anyones doctor told them that once you start dialating you cant go in pools or the ocean or take baths??... my mom seems to think that they told her that and her youngest is only 5. All i know is that once your water breaks you cant go in them...

yeah, that's not true...

they think there is a higher risk of infection from bacteria in the water because your dialated an it seems like it has a better chance of gettin around your baby an causing an infection but its not true i read alot about waterbirths an it says that its just a old wives tale

Hmm, I dont believe that to be true. But if you are curious just phone your L & D

I asked my midwife at my 39 week appointment and she said swimming and everything is just fine until your water breaks.

I've heard the same thing about infections, particularly w/ communal swimming pools.
