Newborn has Gas, is it the bottles

posted 20th Jul
Hey ladies, my daughter has been having really bad gas past 2 days. Im trying to pin point if it is the bottles giving her gas. I use the Medela brand bottles that came with the pump, and she is strictly on breast milk. I am wondering if i should switch the brand of bottles?? Do you ladies have any suggestions on brands? Thanks =0)

might be the bottles..look at the nipple while shes feeding to see if there are any bubbles...to fix her gas push her knees up to her chest repetedly and move her legs in cycling motions...i hate gas drops they never worked!

it is entirely possible to be the bottles.

there are so many bottles now made specifically to reduce gas and i dont believe madelas are. i use dr browns and they work wonderfully. i have also used the avent and nuk bottles and they work well too. some others say the ventaires work well also and some say the playtex drop ins. its sort of a trial and error at times.

Yeah there's no way of removing the air in the bottle with those. I would recommend the Playtex nursers with the slow flow nipple and the drop ins. With those you can squeeze the air out to the very top and they empty a lot like the breast. I dunno if you're still breast feeding or just pumping but they make it really easy to switch back and forth.

Might be the bottles... I LOVE the Playtex Nursers w/ drop ins. You can squeeze the air bubbles out. My kids rarely ever had gas..

Dr. Browns are awesome.
Its all we give Zoe now, even though she has a complete arsenal of bottles and is willing to take any of them.
The gas problem is sooooo much better with Dr. Browns. She burps almost instantly.

Try Adiri, they are 12.99 a bottle @ babies r us. But they are shaped exactly like the mom's breast, and has a unique design. Check out their website to read more about it. My doctor gave me a lot of books that recommend the bottle, so that's what I purchased. Breastflow is another good one.
