Bedtime...

posted 19th Jul
I have always put my 2 year old down at 7:00 and she's gone down without trouble. Ever since we switched her into a big girl bed she plays until 9:00 or so (tonight she's still up at 10:00, but this is very unusual). We do the same thing every night (dinner, bath, books, prayers, bed). She still gets into bed by 7:30, but stays in her room, on her bed,and playsby herself for about 1 1/2 hrs.She doesn't cry, she seems happy in there just reading her books and putting her babies to bed. She will whine/cry for a few min RIGHT before she actually falls asleep. She wakes up at about 7 and takes about a 2 hr nap at 11:30. She's a little crabby in the morning, but not too bad, and she's really happy all day after her nap.

Should I cut out her nap so she goes to bed at 7:30 or just not worry about it since she stays on her bed and seems okay in thereand just let her fall asleep when she's ready? I'm also wondering if this is just her time to be alone since she's with me and her brother all day.

Maybe you shouldn't change a thing. Seems like you found your perfect bedtime formula.

We're in the same boat with Adam. He goes down between 7 and 7:30 but isn't going to sleep until nine most nights. He's also up at the ass crack of dawn- usually around six. He does nap during the day for a few hours. I've been struggling with the later hour he's falling asleep but maybe it's not too bad?
