Birth Control After Baby

I have awhile before I need to worry about this (and I should ask my doctore) but:
breast feeding and birth contol, what's up with it?
I know the old wives say that breast feeding keeps the babies at bay but, a lot of those old wives have consecutive babies!
I plan on breast feeding and I don't know what my birth control options are.
Let me just say, my hubby don't wanna wear no rubby!

I plan on getting on an IUD again, Loved it!

My daughter is 6 months old, exclusively breastfed, and I'm 8 weeks pregnant.....dont count on breastfeeding as a good form of BC.
After this one I think I'm getting an IUD

Make sure you talk to your DR. about birth control for BF moms. I didn't know that certain BC can dry up your milk supply - but it happened to me....

Which IUD did you have? Did you have it removed to get pregnant or ? I'm super curious! Do you get a lot of side effects with other birth control?

Anything containing estrogen has a potential to effect your supply.. I would suggest asking your dr about the mini pill or the paragard IUD.. paragard doesn't contain any hormones, if you are like me and sensative to hormonal bc!

I am not going to count on breastfeeding to protect me against getting pregnant again. I am going to use the minipill while I am nursing.

The only ones I have heard of for breastfeeding moms are IUD and the mini pill...but I could be wrong..

I think I am going to go with the IUD...seems like its the most effective

One of my friends got pregnant while breastfeeding, so yeah. LOL

NM You answered the mirena bit! Do you notice any side effects with mirena girls?

My daughter was born Dec 23rd, shes still 6 months for another 4 days.
