What were your favorite books as children?

posted 19th Jul
Right now I am reading The Giver to my son, it was my mother's day gift from my mother. It made me remember some of my favorites.

Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes.
Children of the River.
The Boxcar Children.
Wrinkle in Time.
Number the Stars.
Shiloh.
Invitation to the Game.
The Devil's Arithmetic.
Hatchet.
Brian's Winter.
Bridge to Terebithia.
Stone Fox.
My Side of the Mountain.

What are yours?

I think it was called Bailey School Kids? It had titles like Martians don't wear underwear...or some shit like that! haha

(jk about the underwear part...I just forgot the title and it seemed to fit)

The Giver was def. one of my faves as well.

Anything Beverly Cleary (I think that's how you spell her name)
Jamberry (Will likes this one too, he giggles his head off when I read it to him)
Ella Enchanted
The whole Harry Potter series (8th grade is technically a child, right?)
Love You Forever

and a bunch more. I was a major bookworm when I was younger. I wish I could remember all the stories I loved!

One of my very favorites was Pierre: A Cautionary Tale in Five Chapters and a Prologue by Carol King. It's not very well know, but I loved it!! It's about a bratty boy who tells everyone, "I dont care, Im Pierre." My mom and I still say that to this day.
