I was just about to say the same thing, CIO is the best decision that I have made so far as a mommy. My son coslept and when he was younger he was a good sleeper so I didnt mind but once he hit like 8 months he would toss and turn all night and wake up every 2 hours. Finally I couldnt take it anymore and we let him cry. The first night was terrible and I felt so bad, he cried for about 45 min (and was checked on every 10) but each night the time went down. Now he goes to sleep on his own and sleeps from about 8 until 7ish.

YOu have to do it gradually. If she doesn't like her crib, think about getting a toddler bed. My son knew how to climb down from the bed without falling, so I have him in a big bed. It's the only way he will sleep. I feed, and then bathe him around the same time nightly. I talk to him calmly and play with him quietly for a few minutes while I lay him down. I make sure he has the tv on, because he likes it, and I make sure he knows he's okay. He adapted very very quickly. In your case, you may need to lay with her for a while to get her to sleep and quietly leave the room..just making your stay shorter every few nights, so that eventually you won't have to lay down with her. I didn't co-sleep the whole year with my son, so it wasn't too difficult, but it was very frustrating! Good luck.

I breastfeed my 6 month old, and I breastfed my 10 year old as well. With both, I would nurse them in the rocking chair and then put them back in their bed. But both of my girls have been sleeping through the night since about 2 months on.

I have a twin bed in her room with the crib....should I stay in that for the first few nights? Or move her crib into my room...or just not at all....?

I would just lay in the bed next to her crib so that she can see you until she goes to sleep..at least for a few days or weeks..but you have to gradually get to a point where she will fall asleep without you being there, which means somehow you have to make sure she's comfortable by herself..cutting out time or however.

I am wondering the same thing too! Except my son is 16 months and I am pregnant again. I feel so guilty when I let him cry in the crib!

Hey,were in the same boat. My son is 15 months and i m 5 months preggo. The bed is getting smaller and smaller. And this kid is a bed hog.
Its hard to put him in his crib bc i nursed and i liked him laying with me. Ne who. It was easyer for me to have him with me in our bed for awhile. But it is so time to switch it. I feel like he thinks he is in troble when i lay him in his crib. I am going to start putting him in his crib as soon as i get all the clean laundry out of it..lol.
Ill be reading up on everyones tipe! They are very helpful.
