Odor

Ive noticed an odor coming from my babys nose. Has anyone had this happen and if so what was the cause? Yes I know im going to call his pediatrician monday morning and get him checked out.

u sure its not bad breath? my baby has bad breath sometimes lol

i've never heard something quite so odd.

I've never had it with my son, but if you have a sinus infection it can have an odor. Is there coloured snot coming out?

I know that it sounds odd, but check to make sure that nothing got stuck in there. That actually happened to a boy when I was student teaching. We couldn't figure out why he smelled so odd everytime we walked by. It turned out that he had a piece of a crayon stuck up it and it got infected.

well this is highly unlikely but my brother was five and constantly picked his nose and smelled AWFUL!! well my mom tooki him to the doc after a few months and when he started to smell and it turns out he had sucked a peice of foam up his nose and it was growing to his brain...gross! he almost died because of that. but i doubt thats whats wrong with your baby..just thought id share though

Oh, and the other thing is - and I noticed this especially when I was BF - sometimes milk gets up in the nose. If it doesn't get out, it can kind of rot in there. Kierans didn't smell, but I did VERY CAREFULLY use the tip of kleenex and clean up in his nose and got out chunks of milk. YUCK!

no snot green boogers though hes 6 wks old so i cant imagine anything being stuck i dont know

My son did this same thing but thankfully he told me immediately after and I had to take him to the ER to get it taken out.
