They think I have a subchronic hematoma!!!!!

posted 19th Jul
Earlier today I had bright red spotting and a little on my underwear and I was at home by myself b/c my parents were at some retirement party so I couldn't ask my mom if it was normal and it seemed 2 get a little bit more the next time I went 2 the bathroom so I called my bestfriend and she took me 2 the hospital....they did ultrasounds and stuff and they said that they think I have a subchronic hematoma (clot behind the placenta.)...they want me 2 go 2 my regualar drs on Monday but they are pretty sure that it is a subchronic hematoma they said that having that causes a greater risk of having a m/c so now I am on complete bed rest for now which is goin 2 drive me crazy but I guess I just have 2 think about it bein better for the baby...but now I am soooo worried and scared...anybody else ever had this....

Thanks...they said everything should be ok...I just have 2 be careful and make sure the bleeding doesn't get work and they said that eventually it will fix itself and if I start crampin that is when I should really worry but I really worried b/c it can cause a m/c

i had one. My placenta was pulling away from my uterus and on top of that I had placenta previa. Everything turned out ok though. I was on besrest for sooooo long, it seemed endless. When they say bed rest they mean DO NOTget up unless you're going to the bathroom. My Dr. flat out told me that if I want to bleed to death and let my child die then do what I want, but if I enjoy living to just lay there. He had to be blunt about it because like most moms, I wanted to be doing everything I was already doing. It will go away, but you have to listen to your Doc. The clot will eventually drain out. You will have bleeding like a period while it disolves. Just don't let yourself get too stressed. Good luck hun and keep us updated.

I hope everything gets rectified. I hope you get through this. Just relax, and let the doctors take care of everything. Good luck..

I had a subchronic bleed. I'm 26 weeks and okay now. So I feel that you will be fine too.I saw on the sonogram what it looked like which was a massive clot underneath the placenta plus I had other things too like 6 cysts too.
I researched the web and got info on it. I'm not to sure when it closed up but I bleed in pads for some weeks and reduced my stress. I think it cleared early I have to check all my posts. Congrads with the pregnancy and hang in there. By the way my doctor said it goes away on it's own and mine did if it's the same.

I just noticed we're due on the same day! And we're both having girls!!! Congrats mama!!

OT - Im sure everything will resolve itself in the end. Just remember to stay in bed, and to keep your stress levels waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay down. Hey just think of it this way, you can get waited on all the time now   How many other times have you been told to lay around all day every day
Good luck and also Congrats!
