They think I have a subchronic hematoma! UPDATE!!!!!!

posted 19th Jul
earlier today I had bright red spotting and a little on my underwear and I was at home by myself b/c my parents were at some retirement party so I couldn't ask my mom if it was normal and it seemed 2 get a little bit more the next time I went 2 the bathroom so I called my bestfriend and she took me 2 the hospital....they did ultrasounds and stuff and they said that they think I have a subchronic hematoma (clot behind the placenta.)...they want me 2 go 2 my regualar drs on Monday but they are pretty sure that it is a subchronic hematoma they said that having that causes a greater risk of having a m/c so now I am on complete bed rest for now which is goin 2 drive me crazy but I guess I just have 2 think about it bein better for the baby...but now I am soooo worried and scared...anybody else ever had this....

I went 2 the Doctor today and she said that it is only a minor subchronic hematoma and that it will eventually disolve and that I only have to stay on bed rest for 2 weeks and then see how things go so I'm am feeling at little bit better not so worried!

I had it. It started at 12 weeks. They put me on bedrest for 2 weeks, which I followed. The bleeding stopped then at 15 weeks I started to pass clots. I went to the ER and they said that there was a huge hematoma next to the placenta and that it looked like I was passing the clot which was a good thing. They sent me home saying since I was only 15 weeks, there was nothing they could really do for me. A couple hours later, I kept passing clots then I felt a pop and I delivered the baby at home. It was awful. I dont want you to freak, it doesnt mean this will happen to you, its just that you asked if anyone else had this. I would strongly recommend that you stay completely OFF YOUR FEET for as long as possible till you are in the clear. Maybe if I had been on bedrest longer, it may not have happened. Good luck and I will say a little prayer for you.

Yeah, that happened last March, 2 days after my birthday. It was horrifying. Yes, listen to the doctor. Stay off your feet please. I did but they also think I may have had a clotting disorder, not sure though. I do know that many women do get these and continue on to have normal pregnancies. I hope you are one of the lucky ones.

aww i'm sorry to hear that.

If it makes you feel any better i had a hemotoma & it caused very very heavy bleeding when i was 9 weeks, i was on bed rest for 2 weeks. I am now 30 weeks and my baby girl is doing great and the hemotoma went away
