Childbirth Classes

Woke up at 7 am this morning with Devin, revolved my whole going home schedule around this class, and it was cancelled.
Now I am going back to Austin and won't be here for the make up class.
Anyone know of any childbirth dvds I could rent or something?
Anything to do with Devin to prepare him... and me for what it's really gonna be like, not like on tv shows or something.

Hmm, ask the hospital. MOST hospitals do a birthing class.

I will tell you my honest opinion of the class I took... EVERYTHING I learned, I didn't even remember when I was dealing with contractions!! LOL

I'm pretty sure you can find a DVD somewhere though- probably even your local library.

look on youtube maybe? just search for it. or you can call hospitals where you are goign to see if they offer a class.

My doc actually told me that the classes would be a waste of time and that I wouldn't remember when I was in labor anyways. I didn't take them and did just fine!

Rented some from the library, knew basically everything, glad I ended up not spending 70 bucks on the class.
I think it was better for daddy to watch and sort of get an idea on how to help relax me, but we could have done that ourselves.
It was nice to dedicate an hour to it though, it made him realize

If I were you, I'd rent them again next month closer to your due date. Watch it a few times if necessary for the breathing exercises... all I remember when I was in pain was to take a deep breath in and I let you a big old AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH and I am sure people up and down the hall were able to hear me! LOL

I didn't have any drugs though...

yeah, me and my birthing instructor figured out the classes are really mostly for the men anyway, because as pregnant women we research EVERYTHING over and over before labor because WE have to do it no matter what haha. theres no turning back for us. so men really need the class, but we just go so they dont feel liek it's for them haha   but littl do they know it is for them haha

Oh and the only reason I am doing it so soon is because my doc. says she is going to be here in 2-3 weeks
I had pre rupture of the membranes and it was a blessing I made it this far.
