Getting peircings and tattoos while pregnant...

Is it harmful or can it hurt the baby to get peircings or tattoos when you are pregnant?
becauseI was thinking about getting my septum pierced soon but I didn't know if I should wait until after the baby is born.
I know there are always risks of infections and things I just wanna know if it'll somehow hurt the baby.

I was curious because I do all my own piercings myself so I wouldn't be able to talk to a perfessional peircer.

A respectable piercer and tattoo artist will not tattoo or pierce a pregnant woman. There's too many chances of infection that could harm the baby.

hmm I know alot of places wont do piercings or tattoos if you are pregnant!

No respectable tattoo or piercing place will do either while you are pregnant because of the risk of infection.

tattoo places wont do it if you are pregnant or nursing. They wouldnt pierce my nose because I was nursing. He told me because if I were to get an infection I would be put on antibiotics.

Nope.. They'll make you sign a waiver before stating that you're not pregnant.

You don't wanna get an infection and transfer that to your little one..  
I had an appointment to get my backpiece done and then I found out I was pregnant.. so, yeah. That's gotta wait for a while.

i fail to see how we can debate and discuss this. Make a poll or something

my hubby is a tattooer...and he said NO WAY would he tattoo a preggo woman..altho, ive been tattooed several times while breast feeding and i havent had any issues...your pregnancy will fly by..just wait till after you have your lil one  

i dont know much about piercings...but i stretched my ears while pregnant, but thats not too extreme..i was only about 4 months at the time tho...

just to be safe...i say, wait.  

i had an appointment to get my subclavs done, then i found out i was pregnant, he said to wait till a year after your done breast feeding or a year after the baby is born if you dont breast feed, since it takes that long for a woman's body to settle back to normal. it could because a subclav is a deep tissue piercing.

i cant wait for my best friend to give me tats after Jude comes!!!
