Im not for sure on this but i heard you have to go to court and pay like $500 to change your name. Im not for sure though.

After I was married it didn't take long. I had to change my name on my SS card, and then my drivers license. (the rest of it was really easy,just showed my new IDs)I just needed to have my marriage certificate and my current ID information. I don't remember it costing anything, if it did it wasn't very much.
