I have a friend who met some guy off of myspace. She went to his house. She did not know him from a damn hole in the ground.

I'm curious as to how many girls have gone straight to a guys house before meeting them in public. I think she's fucking crazy. She just started talking to him 2 weeks ago, and went to his house last week.

WOW! She's crazy.   She should've met him up in a public place first.

That is extremely dangerous. I've met a couple of online friends before but it has always been people I've known for a long time & always in public. I wouldn't even trust someone I knew IRL for 2 weeks enough to go to their house, let along someone from the internet.

I think it is crazy to meet a man off the internet period. It's dangerous and you never really know what the person is going to be like. You could meet in a public place then go somewhere private and be raped and killed.

I think "I wouldn't meet a Guy on the Internet" should also have been an option.

When I was younger.. I use to do it quiet a bit.. NOW, that I look back, it was stupid and potentially coulda been hurt if he was a crazy.. But I also have met people in public places too..

I met my husband on MySpace, he was in Arizona and I was here in Minnesota. We talked on the computer from May 06to July 06, then talked on the phone from July 06. He came and stayed a weekend at my house that September (I still lived with my mom, I was only 19). I lost my virginity that night and we've been together ever since. I think it's fine if you feel you really know that person, but most defiently meet somewhere public first. I had 2 friends come with me to the airport and we ALL had dinner together!

I just want to know about those who do meet people off the net. If they don't meet people, it won't answer my question.   Thats why it'snot an option.

I think she's nuts too. 1 week after messaging him, he invites he, and she goes there alone. Out in the country! I want to smack her.

I have only met one person from myspace in real life and that was at a concert. I live in a fairly small town though where my old group of friends hung out with all the same people. So eventually I met all of the people IRL that I had "seen" on myspace first.

To someone's house? No, I haven't done that. Though I did once take a bus 12 hours to Michigan to meet a guy at a motel. But I'd known him online four years when that happened so I guess that's not really the same, heh.

Anyone I'm meeting that I haven't known for a while and don't fully trust I'd only meet in public.

How is someone on the internet more of a threat than someone you meet at a bar, or at a grocery store? The only difference is online you can't see them. But they can lie to you just as easily and be just as deranged if you meet them in person instead of online.

I've met a few guys off the internet. One when I was 18, I was with my cousin & we met 2 guys. We met them at a parking lot then went back to their house. Another guy I met alone & met him out his house. & My now fiance I met him at my house.

I like to think i'm a really good judge of character & I'm smart enough to know if I'm putting myself in a bad situation or not. Not that it makes it right, and I probably wouldn't do it again. I probably would never meet another guy off the internet again even if I wasn't engaged. I've heard too many horror stories now.

I wondered the same thing.

Ive met a few guys off the net.. Im not exactly a weakling. so i could defend myself if needed.. and my friends were always on speed dial and i made sure at least 1 person knew exactly where i was at all times.

I think its stupid if people dont make sure that people know where they are.. you know?
