Im getting a C- section!!!!

posted 19th Jul
Ok so this is my seconedpregnancy, with my son i had vaginal birth and i was not able to get him out fast enough, my bones didnt expand enough, so he was born not breathing and totally blue and he could not move his right arm for a couple of days due to a little bit ofnerve damage.....So instead of taking that risk again with my daughter i discussed a c-section with my dr. and he told me that there is no wrong or wright, but for my childs safty i am going to do it... and i am pretty nervous about it... i dont really knowhow its going to go or what its going to feel like after or during, but if any of you ladys can educate me on it a little that would be so awsome....

my c-section recovery was horrible, i lost too much blood, had 2 blood transfusions, then i got an infection in my uterus and i had to go back 2 days after i got home from the hospital, had a DNC, was in ICU, horrible gas pains, and then on top of it all i got pnemonia(sp?) so i was in there for a total of 9 days. it was a big mess. however, the actual c-section went smoothing..the only time i was uncomfortable was when they were wheeling me out & i vomited due to the anaesthesia.

I had a C-section in Guatemala! ... yikes!

I was awake during the operation and joked with the doctors, my daughter was born and was perfect and there were no problems. I did start to vomit, and even choked on it a bit... embarrassing but yeah... don't eat before your section! Write after the operation I felt so exhausted I couldn't even hold my daughter!! I fell right to sleep! It hurts really bad when you start getting feeling back in your legs, it tingles and burns and I had a hard time with it... it didn't help that the nurses dropped me when moving me from the gurney (sp?) to the bed but after I could start to move again I was fine.

Actually the day after my operation I was begging to go home, and was walking around and cooking and taking care of my daughter. I had a slight pain in my lower tummy where they cut me though. However, I have always healed fast after operations.... What is your body like?

Have you ever had an operation before? How was the recovery from that? If not, have you ever had a horrible cut or bruise, how long did it take your body it heal itself?

Everyone is different, but in the USA I think that it's pretty safe to have a C-Section.

My first was a C he was to big I pushed 2 1/2 hrs & he would come out. I had no problems from the c It hurt when they took the placenta but that day 7 the next I felt no pain & used no meds the noly discomfort I had was when I stood to walk the first time & that day or so then I was fine I went home & cooked a "late" thanksgiving dinner 3 days later (he was born thanksgiving day lol) but I dont know if much if diffrent with a Planned C I have to have one this time too for the threat of the same thing.......
