Well, tell your momma to practice that!   haha, she should be a good coach though. I had my grandma as my coach in the room (Thankfully, she's had 6 kids, is a retired OB nurse, and teaches a child birthing class, so it really couldn't get any better.) and I am so glad that I did. She helped me so much. I didn't have a doula or anything, but I guess my grandma could kind of count as one.

I wasn't told to refrain from pushing, I would think the only time they would is if they weren't set up yet, or if the head was out and they wanted to suction the baby out before she/he took it's first breath. I doubt that they would do so in order to prevent the baby from coming out too quickly though, in my opinion, it seems kind of sadistic to tell the mom "Well, despite how much you want to push, and nature wants you to get this thing out of you; you're not allowed to do it because I said so."

yeah, i hate it when they tell you not to push! nature is telling you to do it for a reason!! my doctor took like 10 minutes to get there and so the nurses were trying to make me not push, now THAT is hell! i yelled at the nurse, lol. you dont tell me not to push when everything in my body is telling me to.

Stupid nurses, ugh. They can deliver babies, they have to do a mandatory one per year, I believe.

gorgeous name, i just watched a movie where halle berry was names ro, and although i didn't like her character I loved the name!! Although i think my hubby and I have settled on Cadence Lynn for a girl and Daniel Takoda for a boy

Thank you!   What movie was it? I'm curious to see if that was her nickname in there, or her real name. My 23 month old cousin calls Rowan "Ro Ro" because she can't say Rowan. I love the name Cadence. I think I am going to name my next daughter Marlee (or Marley) Lynn. My momma's middle name is Lynn, and I would love to name her after my momma. Where did you get the name Takoda? I've never heard of that.

Oh, neither would I, but I would much rather have a nurse there to help me than go at it alone. I find it amazing that some women can like, deliver by themselves, or in the car or something like that. It blows my mind.
