as long as I don't have kids to take care of, sure! We try to go back one a year. I cry everytime we touch down in seatac and when we leave. I'd kill to have the money to move home.

Ha! Ha! Yeah, I wouldn't mind mowing the lawn and all that either if I didn't have a baby to take care of, lol. I know what you mean about SeaTac. When I lived in DC, every time I flew home, I flew through SeaTac and I loved that view of the ocean and the King Dome and I just felt so at home. I think once you live in the Pacific Northwest, it's really hard to live anywhere else....well, unless it's some tropical island. I could totally get used to living on a tropical island, sipping colorful drinks all day long and lounging in the sand, listening to the waves. Hopefully things will turn around for you so you can move back soon.

I grew up in spokane but, hubby grew up in Seattle. I told him that the best smell in the world was seattle. He had no clue what I was talking about until we flew home the first time from living in NY. I told him to take a deep breath and tell me what he smelled. you know what his answer was? "Home!" Nothing like smelling the sea and the rain and pine mixed together. Add a sunny day to that and it's even better.

Oh yeah, that smell. We've got it at the airport in Vancouver too (even though I usually fly through SeaTac). The air just tastes good here. It's got that fresh, sweet taste. Yum. And the temperature is always (OK, almost always) just right. Not too hot, not too cold. I can wear a sweatshirt in the winter, and I rarely get sweaty and gross in the summer. And in the winter, if it snows, it's like a national emergency and nobody has to go to work. Like I said, start working on convincing your husband that it's time to move back.

it would take a really good job to move us back. We have really well paying jobs and we'll be debt free in about 3 years (except the house and car) the cost of living here is sooooo much less too. Our tiny 3bdrm house would run about 5 times as much in seattle. All my rich uncles aren't dead and they are great uncles so, they have their own families to leave money to LOL

Yeah, it's unbelievable how expensive it is to live out here. That's how I ended up in the country. I originally lived in Coquitlam, a suburb of Vancouver. That got expensive so I moved to Squamish, which is halfway between Vancouver and Whistler (and as much as I love it, it's a total hick town). Well, that got too expensive too because of the 2010 Olympics. So then when I got pregnant, my mom and I decided to buy a house together and we ended up having to go farther and farther away from the city, till we ended up in the middle of nowhere. But the house we got here would've easily been a million dollar house if it were in Coquitlam. But one would think that an eleven and a half month rainy season would scare most people away and therefore bring down the house prices....lol

i would kill for a rany season. it's either hot or cold here not much of a middle ground. our apt in seattle wasn't too far from the locks. I miss going out on our balconey during a storm and listening to the sealions bark.
