Blood Pressure

posted 18th Jul
I'm 19 and expecting my first child on August 25th. It's a girl. I won't make it to the 25th of August though. I found out at 22 weeks that I was having blood pressure problems and with medicine they seemed to be under control, that was until about 3 weeks ago. Last week my midwife upped my meds from 200 mg twice a day to 300 mg three times a day because when I was in her office my blood pressure was 162/91. Even though she did that I still am having problems, for example I woke up today and it was 154/91 and I checked it later in the day and it was 149/94. My midwife said that she was most likely going to induce me at 39 weeks but I have a feeling next week at my appoinment if my blood pressure is still this way she might moved it up a little bit. I was wondering if anyone else was having issues like this and if anyone had any advice.

I've been having problems with my blood pressure too. At first it was fine but towards the end of my second trimester it started shooting up really high. My last appointment was yesterday and my BP was 149/94 so the doctor told me to take another blood test and to store samples of my urine in a miniature cooler for 24 hours and then return it to the hospital.

Keeping my fingers crossed that they don't find anything bad >-<

you're having blood pressure problems but you're STILL seeing a midwife??? That's NUTS!
As soon as my BP spiked at 13 weeks I can ONLY see an OB/GYN.

Have they tested your urine and everything? Let me tell you girl the 24hour urinalysis is NOT FUN!!!

They told you to cut your salt intake and drink a gallon and a half a day right?
That's what they tell me at least... and plenty of excersize!

Good luck!!!

yeah, when I started having problems with my blood pressure they had me do a 24 hour urine test and all sorts of blood tests, I guess they came back fine but who knows, my doctor doesn't really telling me much, I have an appointment on Thursday and I'm going to ask to look at my chart.

Oh and I monitor my blood pressure at home and I woke up today and checked it and it was 149/105, that's with all the meds
