Question about choosing to be induced...
posted 18th Jul
I am in a dilemma. I have been given due dates ranging from September 10th to September 25. The problem with this is that my mom is flying in from S.D. and she only gets a limited time off of work. I want her there for the birth, not only because she's my mom, but also because she's my doula. I have been thinking about setting a date to be induced so that I can insure her presence at the delivery and know that she'll have time to spend with me and the baby. She's not exactly happy about the idea of me being induced, but she understands why I want to do it. My lmp due date is that of September 25th, but the ultrasound (which wasn't taken until after week 20) shows my due date as being September 10. This is also my first baby. I have no idea what to do. All I know is that my mom being there is very important to me. Please help...

i'm not sure that they will allow you to do so just for that reason. You may possibly be able to do that but they usually wait until you are over due or have some medical reason to deliver before your due date.

My doctor said that any time after 39 weeks he will induce me if i want... ask your doc about what to do in your situation...

with my induction experience I would never OPT to be induced.... just my opinion on it all.
But it wouldn't hurt to ask I don't guess.

My doc induced me at 39 weeks so that he would be the one on call to deliver. It depends on your doc. As long as your baby is healthy, some don't mind inducing! Good luck
