I dont know what to do...(Kinda Long)

Okay so Im 16 weeks preggers right now. And my insurance got cancelled 4 weeks ago, so thats when my last appt was. I was living in CO and I applied for insurance there, but now that im In CA that doesnt make a difference. So Im calling around today to find out how to apply for low income Insurance, such as medi-cal. I talk to some girl and she tells me that once I apply it takes 30-45 days to see if your approved! I dont know what to do. I mean that could be almost 3 months without going to the Dr's to see if this baby is okay. Is there places you can go and just pay to get checked out? Does it cost alot? Im so freakin worried.
And on top of that, I have a one year old daughter who goes to daycare so I can work. Which i sooo cannot afford on my own, and ive been getting help with daycare through different programs and such. Well I call today to find out what I have to do In Cali and they tell me theres like a waiting list or something.... Which means I dont even know when the next time ill be able to work is!
IM FREAKING OUT
Does anyone know anything that could help me? Or at least help calm me down...

I don't know if this will help since I live in Ohio but their are doctors offices where you pay $20 to go to the doctor if you have no insurance. And also if you get on the medical card in Ohio it will pay 3 months back if you have doctors bills. So maybe you could possibly go to the doctor and when you get on the medical card you give them your doctors bills and they will pay them but only 3 months back.

All you need to do is go down to the social services office and explain it to them . They can put a rush on things . They did it for me I am a high risk preggo , and I had to have some tests down right away . There is allways a way.

go to planned parenthood, they go off your income and are usually pretty cheap.

have you seen a doc already? If you have a normal healthy pregnancy its no problem. i went 10weeks without going to the doc because i moved.


medicaid will cover up to 3months before you get it. so if you can find a doc that will see you without insurance or find a local heath clinic make an apointment and then after you get on medicade let them know about the bills

Go to a planned parenthood or find a local social services office and they will be able to move you in the right direction.

planned parenthood hun, they're all over the place in Cali.

you should go to planned parenthood, they offer alot of services and they except medi-cal which is a government assisted program you can sign up for, it doesn't take long at all, they will see you the same day. Just call 411 and ask for the phone number for the one closest to your city.

They offer prenatal care as well. They are like a huge OBGYN office.

no it's not just for prevention, it's also for prenatal care... and yes they'll be able to tell you the steps you need to take. I would highly suggest going there asap and getting yourself checked out.
