painting while pregnant?

Does anyone know if painting is unsafe while pregnant. I want to paint my nursery and now, im worrying about all the fumes!

If you are in a VERY well ventilated space and using latex not oil then it's ok.

Make sure its well ventilated!! and maybe wear a mask while in the room...

yup just open all the windows and doors, and take frequent breaks, and just listen to your body, it will tell you if it needs a break   good luck!!! post pics of how it turns out!

I painted my living room, kitchen, bathroom, master bedroom, and Garrett's nursery all while pregnant, and he turned out perfect! Just use latex paint, and keep the windows open.

I've painted all my kids nurserys and always with windows WIDE open.. Never had any issues and really never even smelled paint fumes either..

Thank you for the input, I was thinking I couldn't paint, and I know My fiance isn't getting off his lazy ass to paint. Some has to do it!

I was looking into this a few weeks ago because I had do do a few things and there was some painting involved and also caulking in the bathroom. I was concerned about the paint, not the bathroom, but whenI read the back of the caulking it actually said that it contained substances "known in the state of CA to cause birth defects." I was really surprised!! (And why it is know in CA and not anywhere else sort of confused me)
