I sat emily-rose up on the bed. I expected her to fall right over. She sat up, with no help whatso ever, for a minute. I guess I can put this day as her first time sitting up in her baby book?

I don't know. I would think sitting up would only be counted if she pulled herself up and sat un-assisted...but I'm not sure. I'm interested in other people's answers too, though  !

I would think it counts. I think pulling themselves up in sitting position and sitting up unassisted are separate milestones. But that might just be IMO.

what i did in lylians book was put the date and wrote you sat her up and she didnt fall over, then when she sat pulled up and sat alone i wrote the date and that she sat up all by herself from laying down or something. liek that.

Yeah, she hasnt seemed to intrested in sitting up, so we have been sitting her up and recently, she has been able to balance herself with no help

I say yes! Sitting up and being able to put themselves into the sitting position are different milestones!

Thats a good idea.

I think that they are two seperate milestones too.

Dont worry, my daughter is wayyy closer to crawling that she is to sitting up on her own.

She doesnt crawl, but she goes backwards and turns and gets on her knees and is ready to go! She can sort of sit unassisted, but not for long at all!
