Dieting for a month!

Today marks one month that I have been on my diet. I have lost 16 pounds so far. So my total weight loss since I had Dominik is 53 pounds. I have lost all of my baby weight plus 10 pounds extra! I am so excited. Only 33 pounds to go till my goal of 140!

Controlled carb dieting. My husband started doing it on Monday and he is already 7 pounds down! It's easier for guys plus some of it is water weight in the beginning.

That is GREAT!!! Good job. I have ten pesky pregnancy pounds (try saying that three times fast) that just doesn't want to go away. I'm not sure if it's because I'm breastfeeding (when I was breastfeeding my first and stopped, the weight seemed to come off plus some) or what. I've been exercising about three times a week and eating way less. Anyway, I decided to start the South Beach Diet.

So, do you exercise along with your diet as well, and if you do, what types of exercises do you do?

I try to walk about 8 miles a week. But 5 of those miles is on a stationary bike, which only takes about 30 mins. Then I do weightlifting a few times a week. That REALLY helps. Just doing cardio won't make you lose much weight. You have to build muscle. When you do lost of cardio you can actually lose muscle. So a little of both is really the trick. South beach diet is good. There isa online support system for low carb dieters. It is very similar to BG. It's called Lowcarbfriends.com. I use it for my Atkins dieting but they do have a section for SBD. I would check it out. They have really helped me when I have needed support of advice. Good luck with your last 10 pounds! Be very careful dieting while BFing. Make sure your getting enough for you and for baby!

Okay, I was wondering if I was doing something wrong while I was exercising. I go to the gym and do about two miles on the cross trainer and about 7 miles on the bike three times a week. Also, I've been doing light weights. When I don't have time to hit the gym (due to the boys), I do a strenght training tape at home. This is all before I started the diet, mind you. I just started yesterday.

With the South Beach Diet, it has me eating good sized portions with snack in between. So I don't think I'm depriving myself or the baby.
