I don't think they are being so rude, well maybe a little....you see...if you remember in highschool....the diagrams where we learned about our reproductive organs....your urethra a.k.a. your pee hole cannot be located in your vagina...maybe unless you were born that way.

This is a urethral prolapse!

Urethral prolapse is a circular protrusion of the distal urethra through the external meatus. It is a rarely diagnosed condition that occurs most commonly in prepubertal black females and postmenopausal white women. Even less common is strangulated urethral prolapse. Vaginal bleeding is the most common presenting symptom. Upon examination, round doughnut-shaped mucosa is observed protruding from the urethral opening.
Because the condition is so rare, the rate of misdiagnosis is high. The differential diagnosis of a urethral mass is broad, ranging from a simple urethral caruncle to rhabdomyosarcoma. Increased physician awareness and early recognition of urethral prolapse avoids unnecessary examinations and patient anxiety.
Management of urethral prolapse ranges from medical therapy that consists of topical estrogen use to conservative surgical excision in whom medical therapies fail.

thanx pregnantmama, that soundsexactly like what i'm experiencing. i knew this board was filled with teenage moms/dropouts but i didn't expect this level of immaturity! i live in the UAE and the dr.s offices are all closed on fridays (religious observance) andi didn't want to go to the er unless it was an emergency. i wasnt sure if this was a normal pp issue.

if thats really what you think you may have, i would think it warrants a trip to the emergency room... it sounds quite painful...

well it doesn't actually hurt... so i think i'm going to wait until sunday to see my regular dr. i'm just really startled by my discovery, it just didn't look right even though i have no symptoms. i don't know, i was kind of hoping that things have just shifted around during labor (i was pushing for three hours, then had to have an episiotomy and vacuum suction) and that they would just go back to normal. it's just that the er in this country is really terrible, they give you some pain killers and send you away so i knew i wouldnt get any answers there.

If your not bleeding, or having puss comming out or in alot of pain sounds like you could wait! Especially if the ERs are horrible! There is probably nothing they could do about in right away anyway!

um... an episiotomy goes from your vag to your butt... not touching your urethra... i would know, i had a horrible 3rd degree epis... your urethra can NOT be in your vagina unless A your vag has become so swollen it swallows it up which i would say could happen if you JUST gave birth, but its not stuck there. i think you should go to a doctor... its also possible you tore through your urethra. but your urethra is NOT in your vagina.

First off how can you say its not in her vag? You have no clue and neither do the other ladies.. read the post that has all the info on what it could be.

god damn, I hate when you ladies act like you know something about someone else's vagina..obv. you have no clue we are not doctors.

OP: Have you had your 6 wk check up?

the reason i mentioned my episiotomy was because it supposedly prevents prolapse. fyi, an episiotomy doesn't necessarily go from your vagina to your rectum, that's a median incision and only one of two types of incisions. i had a medeolateral (sp) incision which is cut diagonally. look it up.

my 6 wk check up is on the 30th, but i was able to get a dr. to give me a house call and it's a mild case of urethral prolapse and no treatment was needed other than continuing my kegels! i'm going to ask my regular dr. at my checkup just for a second opinion anyway though.
