That reminds me of a story my English teacher had us read in the paper about a year ago. THere was this one lady who had really bad cancer that marijuana was the only thing keeping her alive. She had no desire to eat what so ever and she would use mj so she could get an appetite and also to keep her mind off her pain. Well the state she was in would not let her continue to use medical marijuana so she took it to the supreme court and they agreed with her state's decision and if I'm not mistaken i believe they were even going to try and prosicute her for using it. As if it's not bad enough she has a terminal illness she had the stress of going to trial for using an illegal drug that wassolely for medicinal purposes.

The FDA has killed more people with their drugs thanpothas ever harmed. hmmI wonder whythose criminals never get in trouble...

I'll be okay with pot being illegal and heavy handed sentences legally for it as soon as all sythentic opiates are illegal, cigarettes and alcohol are as well. Not that I think that's 'okay' either, but fair's fair. Good to know that the priorities are where they should be. I'm glad child molesters are getting harder sentances.. and drunk drivers as well.

Maybe you could dumb it down for the morons in front, C. I know that when I was sitting on here pregnant a whole ten minutes was just too much time for me to read something that does affect me and some people that I care about.

Life in prison for marijuana...Wrong, dead wrong...I think the goverment is so strict about it b/c they know that it isn't bad...Control comes to mind when thinking about marijuana + goverment.
Instead they would rather legalize something that can kill, that can cause addiction....Silent death "alcohol"...
Why would they let us have something that is good? There is always a price to pay for things that are good...

Ugh. That is all such bullshit and pisses me off. I'm not a pot smoker... but I know (and love) plenty of them... I understand that it is illegal but to put someone in jail for life for it. And the way those stories went down. It's disgusting... especially when murderers and rapists are let back out onto our streets. But these people aren't allowed another chance? That is SUCH bullshit!! None of it makes any damn sense. I am so beyond tired of our ridiculous ass judicial system... the more I think on it, I can't even see straight. Aside from the whole argument of it being made legal... what the hell has happened to fair sentences?? I mean fine... you have drug dealers on the street killing people and distributing crack and cocaine and heroine and so forth to children and all that... fine. Jack up their sentence. (well, of couse I would say that if they are killing people) but you catch my drift (hopefully!).I shudder at the thought of how much more ridiculous things will continue to get as far as the justice system goes as time goes on.Justice my ass.
