PP Birth Control Help!

So my PP check-up is tomarrow and I need to figure out what type of birth control I want to use..
I am breastfeeding and I was on the pill before I got pregnant soI was planning on the mini pill just out of familiarity I guess, but now I'm thinking about getting an IUD. I'm kind of hesitant because I've heard horror stories of IUDs causing infections that leave women sterile and stuff, and I definitly want to have more children down the road.
So I guess my questions are for you breastfeeding mothers:
What kind of birth control did you use, and did you like it?
If you have heard bad things about IUDs, what are they?
Are there any other types of birth control you can use while BF?
And any other thoughts/advice

I'm using Mirena, and I love it so far. I've been spotting off and on since I got it, but it's only been 6 weeks.

I am on the shot. I have not gained weight or gotten preggo as far as i kno. Its easy 4x a yr and safe for bf

I had the IUD and hated it. I had bad cramps on and off for the first 6 months. I got my first pp period at 7 months and had non stop cramps (like the first day of my period) for close to a month when I finally had it removed. I'm on the mini pill now and I have been very happy with it. No weight gain or mood swings  

I am on mirena, i love it, i spot on and off but thats normal for the first 6 months, My sister has had it for 3 years now and she loves it, she has no problems and even better no period. There are some possible side effects just as there are for every birth control. You should check out there website.

Thanks ladies! I'm still undecided so I guess I'll have to talk to my doctor and see what she recommends..

yes after tthe first 6 months

I havent had my period at all on the shot hardly any spotting either just throwing that out there  

I had a friend get an IUD. She hated it, and it didn't stay put...it moved in to her intestines...yes I'm not kidding she had to have surgery to have it removed. IDK I'm on the mini Pill and I EBF and haven't had any issues. HTH
